Later life can bring additional challenges due to health conditions or of those extra years and it’s easy to end up focussed on just getting through each day. This can create worries about what the future holds and whether a care home might be on the horizon for you. This doesn’t need to be the case.
At Abney and Baker we understand how important your independence is to you and how much you want to enjoy later life in the familiar surroundings of your own home, amongst your family and friends.
With our award-winning home care services across Bath & North East Somerset and West Wiltshire, we’ve helped hundreds of people with their care needs just like you. As a caring and supportive homecare provider, we will help you continue living happily and confidently in the safety of your own home.
Dedicated teams of carers: You’ll be supported by a small team and a named Client Support Manager; familiar faces who you will get to know and who will understand you and the way you like things done.
The vast majority of our clients get more than 80% of their visits from the same team of 4 carers, week in and week out.
Bespoke support: You’ll be able easily to change the support you want. As your needs change, so will our support service and you’ll always have the right support. Life doesn’t stay the same and neither should your support service. That includes happily supporting our clients to build their independence to the point where they no longer need our service.
Flexibility: We won’t tie you in with long notice periods so that you can pause our service whenever you need to or just tell us that you are able to manage without us. We can help with all kinds of situations including coming home from hospital, short-term and long-term support and even just ad-hoc occasional visits.
Care Quality Commission: The CQC inspect and regulate our services to make sure they meet fundamental quality standards of homecare agencies. They make sure our care services are safe, caring, effective, responsive and well-led for you. Our CQC report gives you the reassurance our care services are safe, caring, effective, responsive and well-led for you.
Abney and Baker are proud of our simple, 4 step plan is designed to give you both clarity that you will get the support you want and certainty about what it will cost. We’ll make sure that, before you make any decision, you have all the information you need and the confidence of knowing there won’t be any surprises.
We will work at your pace so that, when you’re ready, you make the decision that is right for you.
Step 1 – Arrange a phone consultation to discuss your needs and how we could help
Just give us a call or book a consultation and we’ll give you a call back. We’ll chat through your particular situation and guide you through the options, to ensure you get care and support that works for you.
Step 2 – We’ll visit you at home for a no-strings consultation
When you’re ready, we’ll come and visit you in your home for a relaxed chat about your needs, the variety of services we offer and how we work. We are very flexible and can work alongside family and friends to make sure you’re getting the care you want in the way that is best for you within your local community.
Step 3 – Receive a bespoke plan with clear costs
We will follow up with a detailed support proposal including a schedule of visits, clear costs to help you plan your personal budget, simple direct payments, available start dates, fully personalised to your needs. Our aim is to give you all the information you need to make the right decision for you and your own care.
Step 4 – Start seeing the benefits of support and care in your own home
You can then make the right decision for you when you’re ready to execute it. This is key to feeling comfortable about introducing care and support into your life. Remember too that you don’t need to make a long term commitment. You can change your mind or adjust the support you receive at any time. In no time, you’ll start to appreciate what a difference support and care can make and get back to living happily, confidently and safely at home.
Whether you need a hand with household tasks, trips out once a week or daily support while you recuperate from a stay in hospital, our care needs at home plans are completely flexible, with no minimum contract.
Our mission is to give you, and your family members the reassurance that you can go about your day-to-day life happily, safely and with confidence. Your local Community Support Manager will arrange an assessment visit at your home and can run through what services are available and discuss your bespoke support plan to ensure it fits your needs.
